Community Service

We feel very strongly that it’s important for our firm to give back to our community on a regular basis. Our Volunteer Days have been a great opportunity for us to help wonderful organizations and we’ve had a lot of fun participating, too. – Rick Schwartz, CPA, Managing Partner

Schwartz & Schwartz is proud to support our local community with financial contributions and volunteer Days of Service.

Here are some highlights and links to programs we’ve enjoyed helping:

Meals on Wheels/Minuteman Senior Services

Minuteman Senior Services helps seniors and people with disabilities live in the setting of their choice by engaging community resources and supporting caregivers.

We volunteered to help staff an “Ice Cream Social”, which was an appreciation event the agency held to thank its many Meals-on-Wheels program volunteers.

The Stone Zoo

Stone Zoo, formerly known as the Middlesex Fells Zoo, is located on a 26-acre site near the sparkling Spot Pond reservoir in Stoneham, MA. It is part of Zoo New England, which also operates the Franklin Park Zoo.  Founded in 1905, the Stone Zoo has over 70 animal species on display. You can learn more at http://www.zoonewengland.org/stone-zoo.

This year, we volunteered to help with the Zoo’s beautification efforts, including sweeping, maintaining clear walkways, collecting litter, and prep to repaint a fence.

The Trustees of The Reservations

We encourage you to visit the Trustees properties throughout our state and support their mission of protecting our great outdoors. You can learn about their properties, get trail maps, and see a list of activities you can do at their locations on their website www.thetrustees.org.

Each June, we visit the Trustees’ beautiful Stevens Coolidge Place estate and get dirty!  We helped plant, maintain, and weed their community gardens and supported their “Pick Your Own Bouquet” program.
