Did you know that Massachusetts offers a Workforce Training Fund Program called the Express Program that provides employers with fast, simple access to grant-funded training?

Only businesses with 100 or fewer Massachusetts employees are eligible for full reimbursement of up to $3k per employee/per course for the training, capped at $20k of reimbursements per calendar year.

Start by checking which courses qualify by clicking on Commonwealth Corporation – Express Directory (commcorp.org), and then scroll down to the search box and enter into the Course Name/Description/Keywords terms such as dental (which currently produces a list of 19 courses), medical (which currently produces a list of 50 courses), or any other meaningful terms that you feel would be effective.

Once you find training courses that make sense for your staff, simply follow these 6 steps:

  1. Select a course
  2. Gather application materials
  3. Apply for funding (at least 21 days before the training begins)
  4. Accept your award
  5. Send employees to training
  6. Request reimbursement

Learn more about this opportunity by reading through their FAQS and their Guidelines. Or reach out to them directly and you will hear back from them shortly.  Based on our CPA firm’s experience with this training grant program, Massachusetts is very eager to help companies take advantage of these grants to fund their staff’s training.
